Produced, mixed, and mastered by Adiar Daufembach, the release channels modern metal’s brutality with uncommon emotional weight.

Avidious has released their debut album, Death Knows My Name, a relentless and deeply personal record led by multi-instrumentalist Chia-Hung “Hank” Lin, who writes and records all drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard parts across the album. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Adiar Daufembach, the release captures years of lived experience and turns it into a body of work that’s as punishing as it is vulnerable.

More than a collection of heavy songs, Death Knows My Name plays like a narrative—built from anxiety, self-doubt, overthinking, and the quiet pressure of trying to survive your own mind while living in a world shaped by human greed and harsh social realities. The album looks inward at the private wars people fight, while also staring down the cruelty and brutality that can define society. The result is a record that balances sharp aggression with a striking sense of catharsis—an emotional thread that runs through every breakdown, melody, and scream.

The vocal side of the album was written and recorded by Isaac Jones, anchoring the songs with lyrical urgency and raw presence. Meanwhile, most guitar solos were written and recorded by Gabriel Franzese and Houston Davis, adding flash, tension, and atmosphere across key moments—enhancing the album’s dynamic range without sacrificing its heavyweight core.

Hank describes the project as a long-form reflection of the last few years of his life—one that began taking shape about three years ago and evolved from home demos to full studio realization.

Hank says:
“This album means a lot to me. It tells the story of all the things I’ve seen, all the feelings I’ve felt, and the struggles I’ve had over the past few years…
I started writing this album about three years ago… it’s been a journey from finishing demos to going into the studio and recording all the parts…
I always want to use my music to express my feelings, and hopefully it resonates with those also going through the same emotions and struggles as me and keeps them moving forward.”

Sonically, Death Knows My Name draws from the modern extreme metal spectrum—blending the ferocity and precision associated with acts like Lorna Shore, Currents, and Thy Art Is Murder with the groove, thrash edge, and melodic firepower of Lamb of God, Trivium, Arch Enemy, In Flames, and Orbit Culture. That collision of influences produces a sound that’s heavy and aggressive, yet deliberately super emotional—built to hit as hard in the chest as it does in the pit.

That forward momentum is also recognized by Dirk Verbeuren, Hank’s mentor, who points to Hank’s breadth as a musician and his focus as a creator:

“Hank is not only a very promising drummer with extraordinary abilities, but also a great guitarist, pianist, and songwriter, who has his finger on the pulse of today’s metal scene, as showcased by the excellent debut album of his band Avidious…
…He operates at a level expected of established professionals in the music industry and approaches his career with seriousness and clarity of purpose.”

With Death Knows My Name, Avidious arrive fully formed: a debut that doesn’t just chase heaviness, but uses it—turning intensity into storytelling, and aggression into something honest enough to resonate long after the final track fades.
