Com participação de Derek Sherinian, Dirk Verbeuren e Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, faixa ganha lyric vídeo
A banda Lethal Fright, do vocalista brasileiro Douglas Arruda, acaba de lançar single e lyric vídeo de “Aquatic Trees”. O trabalho foi produzido por Andria Busic da Busic Produções, mixado por Adair Daufembach (Tony MacAlpine, Project46, Hangar, Maestrick, Angra, Hibria) e masterizado por Tony Lindgren (Sepultura, Angra, Dimmu Borgir) no Fascination Street Studios, na Suécia.
“Aquatic Trees” conta com participação especial do atual baterista do Megadeth, Dirk Verbeuren, além de Derek Sherinian e Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, do Sons of Apollo. “Aquatic Trees” é um dos destaques do álbum “Past Through the Future (The Desert)”, lançado em 2021 em todas as plataformas de streaming.
O vocalista Douglas Arruda comenta sobre composição e letras: “Considero a Aquatic Trees uma de minhas favoritas, queria muito que fosse um single. É uma música vigorosa, porém soa acessível. O conceito é muito atual, já que vivemos num cenário de muita polarização”. Sobre o porquê de “Aquatic Trees”, temos uma explicação curiosa: “Em 2016 estive em uma viagem de negócios em Omã (país) e em um dado momento precisei de acesso à internet. A rede do local se chamava “Aquatic Tree”, inclusive um colega comentou o nome parecia com uma banda de rock. Gostei muito desse nome, então fiquei imaginando como elaborar sobre ele. Três anos mais tarde me ocorreu de escrever uma história, como se Aquatic Trees fosse como um assunto ou questão controversa. E as pessoas estariam discutindo sobre isso, e até tomando partidos, mesmo sendo um assunto desconhecido apenas para contrapor. Eu escrevi isso em 2019, antes da covid-19. Então hoje acho que soa mais atual do que nunca!“

Supervisionado pelos irmãos Busic, a Lethal Fright ganhou corpo nos últimos anos e conta com as participações especiais do tecladista Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater), os bateristas Aquiles Priester (Edu Falaschi, Hangar, ex-Angra) e Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), os guitarristas Milan Polak e Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Sons of Apollo, ex-GNR), além dos irmãos Andria Busic e Ivan Busic, que tocam em várias faixas.
O resultado foi um trabalho com letras e sonoridades diversificadas, ora remetendo ao rock progressivo, ora para o Heavy Metal clássico. Entretanto, o trabalho se mostra bastante fluido, já que a maioria das músicas são diretas e não se alongam. Há influências de Sepultura ao Van Halen, desenrolando temas surpreendentes. Além do Douglas Arruda, a Lethal Fright conta com o habilidoso guitarrista maranhense Nunes Italiano, que se juntou ao projeto no final de 2020.
